Privacy Policy

What we collect

RenovCost collects only the minimum data needed to run the site and improve it. Specifically:

• Server logs: request URL, IP address, timestamp, browser user-agent, and referring page. Used for security, rate-limiting, and debugging.
• Calculator inputs: the values you enter (project size, finish tier, etc.) are processed in your browser and used to display a cost estimate. We do not associate these inputs with your identity.
• Analytics: aggregate page-view, geographic, and device data via privacy-respecting analytics, used to understand which guides are useful.

We do not require an account to browse the site. You only provide personal contact details if you choose to request a quote (see below).

When you request a quote

If you submit the “Get my exclusive quote” form, we collect the name, email, and phone number you provide, along with the project details and cost estimate from the calculator, so we can connect you with a local contractor. How we handle that information:

• We share your details only with the single matched pro for your project. We do not sell your information to multiple companies or auction it to five contractors at once.
• Purpose: we use your contact details solely to connect you with a vetted contractor about the project you asked about, and to follow up about that request.
• Contractors: businesses that register interest in receiving leads provide their own business contact and service-area details, which we use to match and contact them.

You can ask us to delete your lead information at any time by contacting us. We retain it only as long as needed to make the connection and for our own records.

Cookies and advertising

RenovCost is supported by display advertising. Our advertising partners may set cookies or use similar technologies to deliver and measure ads. These partners may use information about your visits to this and other websites to provide relevant advertising.

You can opt out of personalized advertising via the Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative.

How we use data

We use the data we collect only to:

• Operate, secure, and improve the site
• Understand which guides and calculators are useful
• Display advertising that supports the site
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell personal information. We do not run a contractor lead-marketplace and do not transfer your data to contractors, lenders, or quote services.

Sharing

We share data only with service providers who help operate the site (hosting, content delivery, analytics, advertising), each bound by their own privacy and data-protection terms. We may also disclose data when required by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, opt out of targeted advertising, or limit certain uses of sensitive information. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), the EU/UK (GDPR), and several US states with comprehensive privacy laws have these rights by statute.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@renovcost.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by your jurisdiction.

Children

RenovCost is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be summarized at the top of the page for at least 30 days.
